Demosisto leader Joshua Wong has urged the government to act on the demands of extradition bill protesters by 5pm on Thursday or face an escalation in protest action.

Wong told RTHK that more protesters would flock to Admiralty if Chief Executive Carrie Lam did not fully withdraw a suspended bill that would allow for the extradition of fugitives to the mainland.

Other demands set out by the Federation of Students and other protesters include an independent inquiry into police use of force during mass protests on June 12.

"At least, today Carrie Lam must make a statement to respond to certain requests," Wong said on Thursday morning.

He added that recent protests were "all because of Carrie Lam and how the government ignores the voice of the people."
