Health authorities on Saturday reported 4,683 new coronavirus cases, as they noted infection clusters arising from hospitals.
There were 4,490 new local Covid cases and 193 imported infections reported for the day.
A total of 1,456 patients are now being treated at public hospitals – nine of whom are in intensive care.
A 22-month-old girl whose case was first reported on Thursday remained in critical condition. Health authorities said initial tests showed the toddler carried the BA2.2 variant.
Officials reported an infection cluster in a geriatric ward at Princess Margaret Hospital, involving five patients and a nursing student in total.
They also said they're looking into a separate group of four infections at Kwai Chung Hospital, where three patients caught the virus shortly after an employee was infected.
Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection again urged people to get inoculated as Covid numbers rise.
She added that experts from the joint scientific committee would meet on Monday to discuss Covid vaccination for children under the age of three.
Four more Covid patients, aged between 65 and 92, have died.
