Health officials reported one imported Covid infection on Friday, extending Hong Kong’s streak without an untraceable local case to 42 days.

The non-local case involves a 21-year-old woman who flew into the city from Austria.

She had been undergoing quarantine at the Ramada Hong Kong Harbour View hotel in Sai Ying Pun when she tested positive for the virus. The Centre for Health Protection said she is not displaying any symptoms of the infection.

Hong Kong has reported 21 cases over the past fortnight – all of them imported infections.

Since the start of the pandemic, the city has recorded 11,850 confirmed cases with 210 related deaths.
