Hong Kong's Covid cases edged lower for the fourth straight day on Tuesday, to 5,594 new infections.
Among them, 135 were imported cases. Seven more Covid patients have died.
Health officials said a little more than 2,500 patients are being treated in public hospitals, including 20 who are in intensive care.
A two-year-old boy is among those in intensive care. He developed a fever on Sunday, and was positive on a rapid antigen test the next day.
His family took him to a designated clinic and he was subsequently admitted to hospital.
A Hospital Authority chief manager, Gladys Kwan, said initial scans show he has hydrocephalus – a buildup of fluid in the brain – and doctors have given him medication to maintain his vitals.
"He had upper respiratory symptoms when he was admitted into hospital. But he was not feeling too well and wasn't too conscious after admission," she told a daily Covid press conference.
"Some medication had to be used to help with his seizure. He also had breathing difficulties."
Kwan said the boy had one Covid shot late last month, and she again urged parents to get their children vaccinated to avoid serious infections.
The Centre for Health Protection's Chuang Shuk-kwan, meanwhile, said as the daily caseload continues to drop, there's room to adjust inbound travel rules and social distancing measures.
She stressed the government is considering different proposals as they look into the relevant data.
