Hong Kong Reports 1,645 New Local Covid-19 Cases

Hong Kong on Monday reported 1,645 local coronavirus infections, with 600 of the cases reported by schools.
The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) said it has asked a school in To Kwan Wan to suspend a primary six class after three students and a teacher contracted the virus.
The CHP's Chuang Shuk-kwan said two of the students were found to carry the Omicron sub-variants BA.4 or BA.5.
Three other schools have also been asked to suspend certain classes after infections emerged.
787 patients with Covid are currently staying at public hospitals. The Hospital Authority said 13 of them are critically ill while 15 are in serious condition. There were no new Covid-related deaths.
Meanwhile, there were 196 imported infections.
