Two Hong Kong men have battled through the English Channel and are cycling to Paris as a part of their charity triathlon from Marble Arch in London to the Arc De Triomphe in Paris.
Veterinarian David Gething and solicitor Mayank Vaid are raising funds this week for two Hong Kong organisations – the Zubin Foundation and Outward Bound HK.
The 463 kilometre feat is called the Enduroman Arch 2 Arc and is the longest point to point triathlon event in history. The effort involving running, swimming and cycling has only been finished previously by 24 athletes.
The duo started their 140 kilometre run from London to Dover, which they completed in 19 hours and four minutes.
Gething specialises in long-distance events and has competed in numerous marathons including the famed Boston Marathon, Ultraman Florida, World Championship Ironman triathlons and multi-day European bicycle stage-races.
Vaid is the fastest Indian Ultraman and competed in Ironman races across Asia Pacific.
