  • Hong Kong adds 6,513 Covid infections

The Centre for Health Protection reported on Sunday that it has recorded 6,513 new coronavirus infections.

Officials said 237 of the new cases were imported.

Almost 2,000 Covid patients were being treated in hospital, 11 of them in intensive care.

Health authorities also reported the deaths of three more Covid patients. They were aged 65 to 81 and were unvaccinated.

A chief manager of the Hospital Authority, Lau Ka-hin, said one of the deceased patients had had a fever for a week before seeking treatment at A&E.

Lau urged people to seek timely treatment if they are experiencing Covid symptoms.

"No matter how mild the symptom is, please go to have a test, sometimes when the symptoms persist, even if the test is negative, you should also go to see the doctor," he said.

Lau noted that Covid patients have reported early symptoms such as tiredness, decreased appetite, a runny nose, low-grade fever and difficulty in breathing.
