The CEO of Hong Kong Broadband, William Yeung, on Thursday apologised to customers whose data was hacked when someone accessed the company's database.
The hacked database contained details of 380,000 customers the firm had in 2012, including names and credit card numbers.
Speaking to reporters at the company's interim results release, Yeung said the internet service provider has taken the matter very seriously.
Asked why the company was keeping details of customers who are no longer customers of the company, Yeung said the company's policy is to keep such information for up to seven years.
