Health officials reported 120 new Covid infections on Saturday, with 86 of the new infections locally transmitted.

New cases are still emerging from the virus-stricken Kwai Chung Estate, even as the extended lockdowns over three buildings in the estate were lifted on Friday and Saturday.

But officials noted that most of the new patients were already quarantined when their illnesses were found, and they believe the transmission chains at Yat Kwai House, Ying Kwai House and Ha Kwai House have been broken.

Chuang Shuk-kwan from the Centre for Health Protection warned that there may still be infections linked to the buildings in future, and residents would have to be tested in the future.

The tally of Covid-19 infections linked to the public housing estate has reached 416.

Authorities also reported eleven untraceable cases, including two patients with the Delta variant, who live in Wong Tai Sin and Sau Mau Ping.

Other patients with unknown sources of infection live in various districts, such as Tseung Kwan O, Tin Shui Wai and To Kwa Wan.

Meanwhile, new confirmed infections linked to previous cases include a worker from the Cape Collinson Crematorium, four students from the Yuen Yuen Institute No.3 Secondary School in Tseung Kwan O, two employees of the Hong Kong Day restaurant at the Far East Financial Centre in Admiralty, and a person who visited the Little Boss pet shop in Mong Kok on January 16.

Two new Covid patients who work at the airport have been classified as possible import-related cases. One is a 24-year-old man who helps distribute specimen bottles and arranges seating for new arrivals, and a 54-year-old male who cleans toilets used by incoming travellers. Authorities say they'll carry out further tests to trace the infections.

Officials also reported more than 70 preliminary positive cases.
