Health authorities on Saturday reported 1,794 new Covid-19 infections, including 114 imported infections.
There were no new Covid-related deaths.
With case numbers rising by 73 from Friday, the Centre for Health Protections’s Chuang Shuk-kwan said she expects the upward trend to continue.
“As for where Covid is going, there’s a slow rise," she said. "And we haven’t seen a notable drop yet, but we will continue to monitor the situation.”
A cluster centred around the Victoria Harbour Restaurant in Tuen Mun continues to grow, with three more diners being confirmed with the virus. A total of 40 infections have been linked to the Chinese restaurant.
