Democratic Party lawmaker Ted Hui has cast doubt on whether Carrie Lam's administration is truly willing to listen to young people.

In the Chief Executive's maiden policy address last October, she promised to recruit more youth to the government's research unit and statutory committees.

But speaking on RTHK's Letter To Hong Kong, Hui noted that the authorities' banning of Demosisto's Agnes Chow from running for a LegCo seat, was yet another example that the government doesn't do as it says.

Hui added that it was the responsibility of the older generations in Hong Kong to set good examples by upholding academic freedom, institutional autonomy and most especially the freedom given under the Basic law.
