The pro-establishment DAB party on Monday accused the government of not doing enough to address women's issues.

At a demonstration ahead of Friday's International Women's Day, the party's Women's Affairs Committee called on the government to implement several measures, including increasing the amount of maternity leave new mothers are entitled to, expanding a public HPV vaccine programme, and legislating against sex crimes such as upskirt photography.

The chairwoman of the committee, legislator Elizabeth Quat, said the DAB was unhappy not to have seen more measures for women in the recent budget speech.

"To be frank, for the past few years, we cannot see there's a lot of measures fulfilling our needs of women in Hong Kong. The government said they're concerned, but finally we do not see any budget allocation, special measure or bill amendment pinpointing all these issues," she said.

"So we're asking the government to pay more attention to the needs of Hong Kong women," she said.
