The Transport Department urged motorists to drive carefully, pay special attention to traffic and transport arrangements and allow more travelling time.
The MTR Corporation's Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong and Island lines are operating at five-minute intervals, and the South Island line is operating at six-minute intervals. The middle lanes of Stonecutters Bridge are closed and only the fast and slow lanes are in use, but the speed limit is 50 kmh. The speed limit on the Lantau Link has also been reduced to 50 kmh.
