  • Ex-husband arrested over influencer murder: police

Police said they arrested the ex-husband of a murdered 28-year-old woman in Tung Chung on Saturday, as they continued to search for the missing parts of the victim's dismembered body.

He's the fourth person arrested on suspicion of murder. The man's parents and elder brother were still being questioned on Saturday.

At a briefing, officers said the man, 28, was picked up at the Tung Chung Development Pier. They believe he was looking to flee on a speedboat.

Superintendent Alan Chung of the Kowloon West regional crime unit told reporters that the 28-year-old, his father and brother were all thought to be involved in the murder. Officers say they've yet to establish whether the mother was directly involved, though they say they believe she was aware of the alleged plot.

Police confirmed the victim's surname, Choi, but haven't yet confirmed that she is the fashion influencer Abby Choi, who has been missing since Tuesday.

On Friday, officers entered a village house in Tai Po's Lung Mei Village, where they found the victim's limbs in a fridge. But her head, torso and hands were missing and officers believe they have been disposed of elsewhere.

About 100 police officers were deployed to search the Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery on Saturday afternoon, including abseiling personnel looking near the slopes, and divers checking a water catchment pool.

The superintendent said the force conducted the search there because some of the suspects had gone to the cemetery a day after Choi went missing.

Chung also said the search was likely to continue.

"We will probably continue the operation tomorrow," he said. "We hope that we can find the remaining body parts of the victim."

Police say they suspect the murder is linked to a dispute involving tens of millions of dollars.
