The woman who is in jail for beating up Indonesian domestic helper Erwiana, has been ordered to compensate another helper for similar offences. Law Wan-tung has been ordered by the District Court to pay another former Indonesian employee, Tutik, at least HK$170,000 -- the amount she sought for being hit with a ruler and a feather duster, and being unlawfully detained for nearly a year.

The court noted that, although there was no evidence to suggest that Tutik suffered serious injuries, the abuse took place over an extended period of time.

The judge found the amount sought to be reasonable.
