  • Eight cases in Sha Tin lockdown, six in Sheung Shui

Health officials completed overnight lockdowns in two areas on Sunday, finding eight preliminary positive cases at a block in Sha Tin and a further six at homes in Sheung Shui.

Both lockdowns were ordered on Saturday night after the virus was found in sewage samples,

At Mau Chuen House on the Shui Chuen O Estate in Sha Tin, officials tested 1,150 residents by 11pm on Saturday. After eight of the tests came back positive, people who had been tested were allowed to leave from about 10.30am on Sunday.

At Ching Cheung House on the Cheung Lung Wai Estate in Sheung Shui, the authorities tested 1,550 people by midnight and allowed people out at around 11.30am after finding six preliminary positive cases, as well as one indeterminate case.
