Services on the MTR’s East Rail Line were disrupted on Monday morning after somebody went onto the tracks at Kowloon Tong.

Services between Mong Kok East and Tai Wai stations were suspended, and trains were running at 10 to 12-minute intervals between Lo Wu and Tai Wai, and between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East.

An update issued by the rail operator said the problem was resolved by 11am and services were gradually returning to normal.

The MTR said it had arranged free shuttle buses to run between Tai Wai and Kowloon Tong. But there were long queues of people waiting for taxis outside some stations.
