Jason Poon talks to RTHK's Janice Wong
The man considered as a whistleblower who brought to light the construction scandal at Hung Hom MTR Station, has expressed regret over the conclusions made by a probe panel in its interim report.
The Commission of Inquiry looking into the substandard work on the new platforms at the station had said in its initial report to the government that the platforms built for the Shatin-Central Link are safe and don't need to be strengthened.
But China Technology managing director Jason Poon expressed disappointment that the commission seems to have made a final decision about the safety of the work, even though the report is only an interim one.
He also said the conclusion contradicts the findings of a structural analysis carried out by Hong Kong University professor Francis Au Tat-kwong.
Poon said Chief Executive Carrie Lam should ask the commission to consider the additional information provided by Au, which he said was given to the panel and the government just days after the interim report was submitted.
Poon also told RTHK's Janice Wong that he may now consider filing for judicial review over the station construction scandal, unless the conclusion of the commission's report is withdrawn.
