DigiFT, a Singapore-based digital asset platform focused on institutional-grade tokenised real-world assets (RWAs), has obtained Type 1 and Type 4 licenses from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

This makes it one of the first licensed platforms in the city offering regulated distribution and advisory services for tokenised securities using smart contract-based infrastructure.

With the Type 1 license for dealing in securities, DigiFT can now provide institutional and accredited investors in Hong Kong with regulated access to tokenised RWAs.

The Type 4 license, which covers advising on securities, allows the firm to offer compliant investment advisory services within the digital securities space.

The development adds to DigiFT’s regulatory credentials in Asia.

The company has held a Capital Markets Services license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) since 2023.

With authorisation from both Singapore and Hong Kong, DigiFT now operates under regulatory frameworks in two of Asia’s key financial markets.

This includes product structuring, issuance, and liquidity provision in Singapore, and regulated distribution and advisory in Hong Kong.

“Securing the Hong Kong SFC licenses marks a significant step in our mission to build a globally connected, compliant, and scalable digital asset marketplace,”

said Henry Zhang, Founder and Chief Executive of DigiFT.

“This authorisation reinforces institutional trust in tokenised finance and brings us closer to enabling an open, on-chain economy where real-world assets move seamlessly across jurisdictions, platforms, and participants.”

The announcement follows Hong Kong’s broader efforts to position itself as a hub for virtual assets.

In May 2025, the city passed a Stablecoin Bill that established a licensing regime for fiat-referenced stablecoins and signalled its ongoing commitment to digital asset regulation and innovation.
