Deputy Justice Secretary Horace Cheung has become one of the latest government officials to catch Covid-19.

Cheung last went to work on Thursday, said the Department of Justice in an announcement on Friday.

The department added that he had worn face masks and taken rapid tests daily.

It said Cheung’s office will be thoroughly cleansed and staff will be tested for the virus.

Meanwhile, the permanent secretary for culture, sports and tourism, Joe Wong, has also tested positive for Covid-19.

The government said both officials are now in isolation.
