Demosisto on Tuesday alleged that two companies in Hong Kong have refused to print the group's logo on merchandise it designed for the Lunar New Year fair, saying it was on an official list of banned images.

The group said the companies told them that they had received "official documents" telling them what logos must not be printed.

Demosisto's logo and its name in Chinese and English were on the list and the group's secretary general, Joshua Wong, said this had never happened before.

He said a company printed the merchandise only after the party logo was removed from the image.

Wong said he is concerned about the erosion of freedom of expression in the SAR.
