Police are looking into whether two Hong Kong people were on board a fishing boat that sank after colliding with an oil tanker near Lamma on Tuesday.
A 36-year-old woman living in Aberdeen has filed a report with the police saying her parents have been missing since Sunday and she suspects they were involved in the accident.
A police spokesman said the couple are in their sixties. He said officers will keep a close contact with relevant government departments and fishing organisations.
The Tian Yi 5 oil tanker was heading to Shenzhen from Qingdao. Thirteen crew members on board were found safe.
Police have asked anyone with relevant information on the missing couple to call 3660-8730.
