Customs officers have seized suspected heroin with an estimated street value of HK$1.4 million that was wrapped around the body of a passenger arriving at the airport on Friday.

A 32-year-old Malaysian man has been arrested and charged with one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug and will appear before Kowloon City Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Officers arrested the man at Customs clearance. He is said to have been carrying 1.5 kilograms of the drug.

The maximum penalty for drug trafficking is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment.
