Ursus Fitness says, on its Facebook page, that the venue has been closed since noon on Tuesday.

Health authorities are urging people who have visited Ursus Fitness in Sai Ying Pun since the start of this month to contact them as soon as possible, after a fitness trainer there came down with Covid-19.

The 27-year-old man is one of the three untraceable local infections that were reported on Wednesday.

The trainer, who was asymptomatic, last went to work on Tuesday, and his sample collected the day before came back positive.

The Centre for Health Protection added that nine staff or customers of the gym have also tested preliminary positive so far.

The new local infections also involved a 26-year-old project assistant who works at a Kwun Tong care home for people with disabilities. Some 70 residents and staff there have been quarantined.

Another untraceable case involves a 58-year-old man who lives in Kwai Chung and works in Cheung Sha Wan.

Hong Kong recorded eight new Covid-19 cases in total, six of which are locally acquired.

The two imported cases are both from the Philippines.

Meanwhile, another 86-year-old Covid patient has died, taking the city's pandemic death toll to 203.
