Health officials on Thursday reported a cluster of Covid infections related to a Chinese restaurant in Tuen Mun.
The Centre for Health Protection said 26 customers who went to Victoria Harbour Restaurant last Thursday evening had come down with the virus.
A family member of one of the patients who didn't visit the restaurant was also infected.
The centre's Chuang Shuk-kwan said an investigation is underway and authorities are inspecting the venue.
"I think seven or eight families had a meal at that place, some were in smaller groups and others in larger groups. We have yet to confirm," she told a daily press conference.
She said a mandatory testing order will be issued for all patrons who dined at the restaurant after 6pm on June 16.
For the day, there were 1,522 local coronavirus cases and 128 imported infections.
Sara Ho, a chief manager of the Hospital Authority, said even though hospital admissions figures have gone up compared with a few weeks ago, the number of serious or critical cases hasn’t increased substantially.
Meanwhile, one more Covid patient – a chronically ill 80-year-old man – has died.
