Health authorities on Tuesday reported 9,373 new Covid infections, 186 of which were imported.

The Hospital Authority said it was caring for nearly 3,000 infected people at its facilities, with 14 patients in intensive care.

Nine more Covid patients, aged between 27 and 99, have died.

Separately, the government said all social distancing measures will be extended until September 21.

A spokesman said as cases are expected to remain at a high level, there is no room to relax the measures at this stage.
