The Fire Services Department on Saturday said firefighters brought a blaze at an industrial building at 226-228 Choi Hung Road under control at about 3 pm.

In a statement, the department said the fire had broken out at 5.17 am, and that it was upgraded to a number 3 alarm at 8.53 am. It subsequently said four jets and three breathing apparatus teams had been brought in to fight the blaze, up from two jets and two breathing teams earlier in the day.

The department had also said the wind was carrying smoke and an unusual smell from the fire and any members of the public affected should remain calm, and close their doors and windows.

One person has been sent to hospital after feeling unwell.
