The curtain has gone up on the first major performing arts venue at the West Kowloon Cultural District - the Xiqu Centre for Chinese opera.
The eight-storey centre contains two theatres with a total capacity of 1,200.
Speaking at the opening ceremony on Sunday, Chief Executive Carrie Lam said she hoped the centre would take Cantonese opera to the world.
The Chairman of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, Henry Tang, said he's pleased different genres of Chinese opera will be showcased at the centre.
