Sze Lai-shan talks to RTHK's Joanne Wong

A group of 20 children from low-income families who had come to the government headquarters to demand more aid from government, had a chance to hand over their list of demands personally to the Chief Executive when Carrie Lam stepped out to meet them.

The children had come to take part in a rally organised by the Society for Community Organisation (Soco) who said the government had been slow to help those living in poverty as they struggle with rising living costs.

Lam then stepped out of her office and met the students who handed over their demands and letters they have written, asking the government to help them meet the rising costs.

The CE told the young protesters that she’ll go back to take a look at their representations.

Soco community organiser Sze Lai-shan told RTHK's Joanne Wong that 234,000 children are in need of assistance from the government.
