The Hong Kong and Macau Affairs Office says radical protests in Hong Kong are starting to show “signs of terrorism”, as it issues another statement in support of the SAR’s police force.
Reading out a brief statement in Beijing on Monday, the office’s spokesman, Yang Guang, said the central government firmly supports Hong Kong police and the judiciary in enforcing the law and bringing those who broke the law to justice.
Yang also said the priority for authorities now is to stop violence.
This is the third press conference the office has held in as many weeks, but unlike the previous two sessions, the spokesman did not take any questions from journalists.
