Animoca Brands has completed a live pilot of AI-powered commerce capabilities in Hong Kong, developed in collaboration with Visa.

Users can deploy AI agents that identify rewards and complete purchases on their behalf within user-defined preferences and spending controls.

Built for Minds by Animoca Brands, the capabilities support the platform’s persistent AI agents.

Initially available through the Bruce Lee Club Ltd eShop, the pilot combines Visa Intelligent Commerce with a cardholder rewards directory.

Rather than manually searching for promotions or comparing benefits, users can authorise their AI agents to surface relevant Visa offers based on eligible cards and execute transactions.

The system uses tokenised payment credentials, authentication, and fraud protections from Visa’s infrastructure to secure agent-initiated payments.

Most existing AI assistants focus on helping users search, compare, and plan.

Animoca Brands noted that enabling AI to bridge the gap to active commerce requires a secure environment where users maintain full control over when and how their agents act.

“Agentic commerce introduces a more fundamental shift by allowing an AI agent to act on a user’s behalf within clearly defined permissions,”

said Yat Siu, Chairman and Co-founder of Animoca Brands.

“Our work with Visa Intelligent Commerce acts as a crucial bridge, connecting the emerging agentic world with established human-centric commerce infrastructure.”
