The Fire Services Department on Friday said firefighters have brought a blaze at a residential unit on Anderson Road in Shun Lee under control.
The fire broke out just after 12.30am and was upgraded to a No. 3 alarm at 1.43am. The government said it was surrounded at 3.20am and the blaze was brought under control just after 5am. They said it was largely extinguished at 8.40am.
There were no casualties reported, but the department advised members of the public affected by the smoke and an "unusual odour" to close their doors and windows and stay calm.
Police said earlier that 22 people had been evacuated from the area.
