Demosisto's Agnes Chow says she will file an election petition on Tuesday, challenging the authorities' decision to bar her from running in the Legco by-elections in March.
The returning officer for Hong Kong Island had rejected Chow's candidacy, saying this was because Demosisto advocates self-determination for the territory's residents.
The returning officer said she did not believe Chow would seek to uphold the Basic Law.
Chow complained afterwards that she was not given a chance to explain her political stance.
The by-election was eventually won by Au Nok-hin, who was chosen by the pro-democracy camp to replace Chow following her disqualification.
