Traffic on Lantau was severely disrupted on Monday morning after a spate accidents led to the closure of a highway lane during the rush hour.

Four accidents involving eleven vehicles took place in the area. One person was injured.

The airport-bound slow lane of North Lantau Highway near the Kap Shui Mun Bridge was closed around 8.45am for almost an hour, leading to a bottleneck.

The Transport Department said the lane was reopened by 9.30am and traffic soon returned to normal
