The government said on Thursday that it had found 73 preliminary positive Covid-19 cases during an extended lockdown of a residential block in Tuen Mun.
Authorities initially imposed a lockdown on Leung Kit House at Leung King Estate on Sunday night but kept the operation going after detecting multiple Covid cases there.
Officials said they completed their work around noon on Thursday, with about 4,650 people having undergone three Covid tests.
The officials added that there were three cases with indeterminate results.
While the area remains locked down for the time being, the government said people who have taken the tests and are able to show negative results may leave. It said it would announce the lifting of the lockdown later.
The government added that around 40 households did not answer the door when authorities visited them and follow-up action will be taken.
