Police said on Saturday they’ve arrested 13 people in connection with a fatal knife attack of a man in a stone factory in Fanling last month.
Officers said a gang of four men attacked the victim with meat cleavers at Wo Hop Shek Tsuen before fleeing by car on December 22.
The 57-year-old man died soon after.
"The crime was premeditated, they had planned it carefully," said Kwan Chun-hin, a chief inspector of the New Territories North Crime Unit.
Kwan said the attack might have to do with land disputes, adding that some of those arrested – aged between 15 and 61 - likely had triad backgrounds.
Authorities said the investigation also led them to a flat in Ngau Tau Kok that they believe was being used by drug dealers.
Apart from crack cocaine and drug packaging tools, they also found cleavers and clothing inside the unit which they believe are linked to the murder.
Officers said they aren’t ruling out further arrests.
