The ICAC on Wednesday charged a woman for allegedly trying to bribe the headmistress of a government primary school to secure a placement for her son.

In a press release, the graft buster said the suspect had allegedly offered HK$20,000 in cash to the head of Hennessy Road Government Primary School on July 18, 2022.

Officers said her son had attended an admission interview in June that year for a primary one placement, but was not invited for a second interview.

The woman faces one count of offering an advantage to a public servant contrary to the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance, and will appear at the Eastern Magistracy on Friday.
