There've been renewed clashes between protesters and police in Tsim Sha Tsui, near the Polytechnic University campus on Saturday night.

Black-clad protesters lobbed Molotov cocktails at advancing lines of riot police on Chatham Road South, who responded with volleys of tear gas and other projectiles but were unable to clear the intersection with Cheong Wan Road, which leads to the university.

However, an hour later riot police managed to outflank protesters by advanced from Chatham Road South and along Science Museum Road.

They forced a retreat into Polytechnic University, which - like other universities around the city - has been heavily barricaded in previous days.
