A group of anti-government protesters have slammed the Carrie Lam administration for being out of touch with society, calling the Chief Executive’s third policy address a “Fallacy Address” that fails to tackle any of the deep-rooted problems.

A spokesman for the group - Citizens’ Press Conference - said Hong Kong can only move forward when the government accedes to the protesters’ five demands, which include universal suffrage and an independent inquiry into allegations of police brutality.

"Hongkongers have learnt this from Carrie Lam's fallacy address farce yesterday: Our government will never be able to solve the fundamental problems embedded at the roots of our society

"For each day that passes that the government does not accede to the five demands, they will continue to lose the battle for public opinion," he said. "The administration will continue to lose legitimacy, and the Hong Kong people will continue to take to the streets."

He also called on people to join a march planned for Sunday: "Hongkongers, on the 20th of October we will see you on the streets. Five demands and not one less!"
