Visitors to Hong Kong will soon have a new attraction in the form of a European flower garden called Kaleido Park. The temporary feature is expected to be sited on land earmarked for the expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland.
Speaking at a signing ceremony on Monday in Holland, between a Hong Kong event organiser and a Dutch flower grower, the Commerce Secretary Edward Yau said the park would be a first.
Yau said the project was in line with government policy to diversify tourist attractions with international appeal. He said the garden tourism project would offer breath-taking floral displays and a unique horticultural experience.
Also present at the ceremony was the Dutch Foreign Trade Minister Sigrid Kaag. Yau said the government would work closely with the Netherlands to make the project a reality.
