Law enforcement authorities say they have seized suspected smuggled goods worth HK$2.5 million from a speedboat off northwestern Hong Kong.
The haul includes watches, mobile phones, electronics goods, medicines and powdered formula.
Customs officers and Marine Police said they spotted two suspicious vessels in the waters off Lau Fau Shan during small hours on Friday, but a man managed to flee on one of them and eventually left Hong Kong waters.
Officers detained the other vessel and found the smuggled goods in a hidden compartment.
