Another major local event has been affected by the coronavirus outbreak.

The 55th edition of the Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo, originally scheduled to be held at Victoria Park between December 12 and January 4, has been postponed.

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association, which organises the annual event, cited the latest government coronavirus restrictions that shut down public entertainment venues for 14 days from Wednesday.

The association said it hopes the expo could be held after the outbreak eases.

It offered its apology to more than 300 exhibitors and service providers set to take part.

Another key local event, the book fair, has been cancelled. This year's event had been postponed from July to December, and was scrapped because of the latest wave of Covid cases.
