StartmeupHK Festival To Be Held

StartmeupHK Festival 2019 will take place from January 21 to 25 to focus on new trends, fresh thinking and cutting-edge innovation.

 

It will be held at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre and will be attended by more than 200 industry experts.

 

Key themes will include healthtech, lifestyle and retail technology, smart city, artificial intelligence and education, finance services, and co-innovation between startups and corporates.

 

The festival will be kick-started by the Healthtech 020 Summit which will look at transforming healthcare through technology.

 

The TECH[LIFE]STYLE Conference will discuss how innovative lifestyle technologies are revolutionising the ways people live, work and play, while the Retail’s Cutting Edge event will talk about the future of retail.

 

The StartmeupHK Festival: Jumpstarter hosted by Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund will showcase top-notch startups and provide networking opportunities for startups, corporates and investors.

 

Industry leaders, government representatives and entrepreneurs from around the world will also discuss technological trends in the urban landscape in the Connected Cities Conference.

 

The week will wrap up with the Startup Impact Summit and the AI & Education Forum.

 

Invest Hong Kong Associate Director-General of Investment Promotion Charles Ng said Hong Kong's startup ecosystem grew 18% year-on-year to 2,625 startups in 2018, while the number of jobs created rose 51% to 9,548.
