SFC Chairman Reappointed

The Government today announced that it has reappointed Tim Lui as Chairman of the Securities & Futures Commission (SFC) for three years from October 20.

Johnson Kong and Dieter Yih have also been appointed as the commission's non-executive directors for two years from November 15.

Announcing the new appointments, Financial Secretary Paul Chan said: "Mr Kong and Mr Yih have a wealth of experience in the accounting and legal sector respectively. They also have immense experience in public service.

"I am confident that they will provide invaluable contributions to the work of the SFC."

The finance chief also thanked outgoing and former non-executive directors Lester Huang and Clement Chan, saying that their wise counsel has been conducive to enhancing the commission's role as a regulator focused on market quality.

Apart from the chairman, the commission has seven non-executive directors including Agnes Chan, Edward Cheng, Victor Dawes, Lester Huang, James Lin, Nicky Lo and Michael Wong.
