Senior Appointments Announced

The Government today announced two senior appointments.

 

Commissioner for Tourism Joe Wong will be seconded to the Ocean Park Corporation to take up the position of Chief Executive on May 1 for about six months.

 

The Government said it arranged for Mr Wong's secondment while the corporation conducts an open recruitment for a new Chief Executive.

 

Deputy Secretary for the Environment Irene Young will take up the post of Director of Food & Environmental Hygiene on April 14.

 

Secretary for the Civil Service Patrick Nip noted that Mr Wong and Ms Young are seasoned administrative officers with proven leadership and management skills.

 

He added that Mr Wong has profound experience in the policy making of tourism development.

 

"I have every confidence that he will continue to serve the community with dedication and professionalism during his secondment."

 

Commenting on Ms Young's appointment, Mr Nip said he is confident that she will serve the community with professionalism in her new capacity.
