Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) has said it will end its operations to Hong Kong, though the airline said it would continue to fly from Shanghai and Beijing as soon as the Covid-19 situation allows.

"The SAS Hong Kong route has not been attracting enough passengers. In October 2018 the route was moved from Stockholm to Copenhagen to offer travellers a more attractive timetable. Despite these alterations, the demand has not met our expectations", it said in an email.

The flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden said it would continue to offer smooth connections from Hong Kong and southern China, via Beijing and Shanghai, to Scandinavia through partnerships with Air China and China Eastern Airlines.
