The benchmark Dow Jones Industrial Average gained nearly 400 points or 1.6 percent, to close at 25,709.00, while the broader S&P 500 rose 1.2 percent to finish at 2,779.60 -- putting both indexes at their highest level this month.

The tech-heavy Nasdaq also added 1.2 percent to close at 7,421.46, its highest level since late January. (AFP)
