Commerce Minister Wang Wentao met Apple CEO Tim Cook on Monday and exchanged views on the company's development in China, the Commerce Ministry said.

The two talked about stabilising industrial and supply chains, the ministry said, adding that Wang told Cook that China is willing to provide good environment and services for foreign companies, including Apple.

Over the weekend, Cook said Apple enjoys a "symbiotic" relationship with China.

Cook attended the high-profile China Development Forum, and said that "Apple and China grew together," during an interview on the role of technology in education.

"This has been a symbiotic kind of relationship that I think we both enjoyed," he said at the state-run event attended by top government officials and corporate leaders.

Cook's visit comes as US export controls on high-tech components are threatening the company's supply chain. (Reuters/AFP)
