August Goods Exports Up 18.6%

The volume of Hong Kong's total goods exports increased 18.6% year-on-year in August, the Census & Statistics Department announced today.

 

The volume of goods imports for the month rose 21% over August 2020.

 

Prices of goods exports and imports increased 6.1% and 6% year-on-year for the month.

 

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the volume of goods exports increased 1.6% in the three-month period ending August compared with the preceding three months, while the volume of goods imports rose 2%.

 

Comparing the first eight months of the year with the same period in 2020, the volume of total goods exports rose 24.3%, while that of goods imports increased 22.4%.
