6th Silver Bond Results Announced

Subscription and allocation results of the sixth Silver Bond were released today.

A total of 256,847 valid applications were received for more than $67.8 billion in principal amount of bonds.

The 79,367 applications for 13 or fewer units will be allocated the full amount.

The other 177,480 applications applying for more than 13 units will be allocated 13 units each, while 58,282 will be allocated one additional unit after a ballot.

The bond will be issued on August 10.

The final issue amount is $30 billion.

Financial Secretary Paul Chan said the Silver Bond has attracted substantial demand from the public, indicating that its issuance can provide a safe investment option with stable return amid the current uncertain investment environment.

“Going forward, we will keep under review the effectiveness of the scheme arrangements having regard to market response, prevailing market conditions and other relevant considerations.”
